For about ten years I have been going Munro bagging with a group of friends in September. During my trip in 2013 I experienced quite a lot of discomfort in my knee joints and they felt very unstable. Before my 2015 trip I was looking to join a gym and Chris H recommended I try Diligent. I have been a member of other gyms previously but never in small group led sessions. Steve brings a contagious energy and enthusiasm to every session. With a program I am attending all the sessions and my overall fitness is much better. At home we have a very large garden so I now manage several hours of strenuous physical work which previously seemed to exhaust me for days afterwards. My overall fitness is much higher. My weight has never been a specific target during my time with Diligent but as a byproduct I find myself cutting down on snacking and generally eating more healthily.*
I have had “programs” from gyms before but once the program has been given it has just been a tick box when I completed all the prescribed exercises. With the system that Diligent use the sessions are monitored and the individual elements continually adjusted as fitness improves. Additionally, each set of activities only last a few weeks so that before they become routine they are being changed and new challenges set.
Don’t think of Diligent as a normal gym where you attend and go through the various pieces of equipment and leave. At Diligent each session is changing and evolving with additional weights or slightly different movements. Every month there is a review and the training program changed and adjusted to your goals.
