James, what made you decide you wanted/needed to start an exercise program?

I wanted to achieve a lean, toned figure ready to start my legal career, which was the catalyst to finally make a big change in my life. The prospect of meeting new people and networking in a fast paced, commercial environment was exciting but I knew I needed to look and feel my best. I had achieved some success on my own, dropping a couple of stone but I had plateaued – essentially I knew I needed professional health and fitness coaching to achieve my ultimate goal. Fortunately, my hairdresser passed me Kieran’s number, I set up a meeting and have not looked back.

What results have you achieved since starting your program?

My results have surpassed all my expectations. In 16 weeks I have dropped from 18% body fat down to 11% and shed around 2 stone to achieve a total transformation in my body composition. I have muscle tone and definition and have literally become a completely different person in terms of my new lifestyle and positive outlook.*

What do you like best about our program/having a trainer?

Overall, the best thing about the program is being set up to achieve – I walk into the gym and my program is typed out waiting for me so I know exactly what I am doing. If I need help or support Kieran, Lyz and Dan guide me through the workout and tweak my technique. Every 4 weeks or so my program changes, building on the previous one so I am constantly moving forward and smashing my personal goals! Believe me, the self esteem boost when you develop every session is unparalleled (and addictive).

The study sessions and fortnightly lifestyle goals are also great because I have the opportunity to tick off my achievement that day (whether it is take a multivitamin or eat more protein), which all feeds back into accomplishing my results. Following the lessons has allowed the infrastructure of a healthy lifestyle to build up around me as I have progressed over my time so far, which has been a manageable way to make all the right changes.

What would you say to someone on the fence about joining our program?

I would simply say consider the ‘return on investment.’ My decision to join the program was purely motivated by the need to perform my best in a commercial environment, rather than to be healthier per se. The body confidence, results and self esteem I have gained and continue to gain have allowed me to excel at all aspects of my life, whether work functions, law school or social events– since my initial 12 week program and weight loss, two new opportunities have opened up, which I know would not have been possible for my former self.* The outlay is well worth it and then you can simply reassess your investment over time – the only caveat is to be prepared for how much you will change!
